Delonghi produce a huge range of appliances, for both commercial and domestic use. They benefit from industry leading technology, robust manufacturing and Italian design. The Pinguino is a range of portable air conditioners developed to work in the home and workplace.
Models in the Pinguino range are robust well-functioning units, but do need a little upkeep – the most regular of which will be draining the extracted water. In this post we’ll be looking over the process of how to drain the water from your Delonghi air conditioner unit.
Do Delonghi air conditioners need to be drained?
Let’s cover some basics – yes, Delonghi air conditioners need to be drained. This is because the units use the water collected from the humidity in the atmosphere in the room to cool the condenser (the hottest part of the appliance) allowing for maximum efficiency. This water will continually collect and so will need draining occasionally. How frequently this needs to happen is dependent on the environment the unit is placed in. When placed in more humid environments, such as conservatories, the unit will naturally extract more water and so will need draining more often.
As a guide, Delonghi say that their units will typically need to be drained at the end of each season. But, to stress, this may vary from environment to environment so we recommend checking relatively regularly until you have a better idea of how quickly it fills up.
